Did Van Gogh have Visual Snow Syndrome?

Whenever I see Van Gogh’s paintings (especially night time scenes) I wonder if he also experienced ’visual snow syndrome’. There are qualities to them that are very familiar including the lesser known starburst effects:

Also, given the famous ear incident… I’m wondering about the persistent tinnitus many VSS people suffer with. I’m further inclined to note my theory that VSS and sensory processing sensitivity SPS (or HSP) are manifestations of the same neurological, structural quirks. Not least, because SPS or Highly Sensitive Persons can tend to creativity and also depression/anxiety.
